Reliability Test Bio's

Hi, my name is Craig Lawrence and I manage the day to day operations of the Reliability Test team at Chilworth. I have been with Sky for over 13 years now, originally as a Field Engineer for 5 years before moving to the Reliability Test Engineer role at Chilworth and for the last 3 years as the Test Delivery Manager. Previously I had worked in credit control, student loans assessment and as an assistant education officer for the local education authority amongst other things. My role managing the Reliability Test team whilst being challenging is also very rewarding and with an excellent team beside me we are constantly striving to improve our output and efficiency to make Sky's products the best they can be.

Hi, my name is Chris Johns, I started at Sky in 2007 as a field engineer in my home town of Plymouth. All my previous employment has always been with a technology and/or testing background but never truly settled in a place. I have worked at an electronic retailer delivering, installing, testing and of course selling and also used to run a test room testing air conditioning units! I really enjoyed the role of field engineer but after 7 years when I saw a secondment opportunity for Chilworth I really had to give it a go, luckily I managed to impress and now 4 years on I have relocated to Fareham in Hampshire and love it. I know it was the right choice. I started out on the then Ethan project which of course we now know as Sky Q, Its been amazing to see how far it has come.

I'm Nick Butt and this is my seventeenth year working for sky, I started off as a field engineer then started with TPS where we covered testing and field escalation's covering the whole of the UK and Republic of Ireland trying to resolve customer issues, most recently working in Reliability Test at Chilworth where I have been involved with the building of various test facilities within the department which include E2E and Q long term testing and Sky Q Lounge test where we test Q alongside smart home tech.

Interests include spending quality time with my family,Wakeboarding & Holidays in the sun.

My name Is Jim Northeast and I am part of the Reliability Test Team and the wider Tech Services Team. You may also speak to me on the Text Taps service when I am covering weekends. I have been working within the Reliability Test Team for just under 2 years, starting off on a temporary secondment and was fortunate enough to then be successful in my application for the full time role when it became available. I look forward to what the future with Sky will bring

Hi. My name is Neil Bekker, I started out as a DTH and Sky Business Engineer at AVC digital back in July 2010. In October 2013 I was part of the transition from AVC to Sky where I continued my role as a DTH Engineer. In May 2016 I started out as a full time reliability test Engineer where I remain today. I enjoy my role as part of the RT team, the role brings new challenges and always a wide range of new and exciting projects to work on.

Hi, my name is Paul Fairman, I work for Reliability Test. I originally joined Sky in 2000 and worked as a field engineer. After a while I got a secondment to work for the VIP team. While I was there I was asked to take part in a high level project investigating the causes of no satellite signal problems. This meant I spent a lot of time at Chilworth working with TPS (Technical Product Services) as well as working with departments from all around Sky. As the project came to an end I was offered a permanent position working for TPS which I accepted. I left Sky when TPS was split in to two only to re-join RT six years later. Leaving Sky made me appreciate how good a company they are to work for, the grass isn't always greener. It's good to be back.

Hi there, I'm Conroy Bowerbank new to role at the moment in the reliability test department, I've been at sky for the last 12 Years but been in the media/telecommunications industry for the past 22 years. I'm a family man and like to play with gadgets but when I'm not at work or playing daddy I spend my time in the gym or clay shooting, both of which I find very therapeutic.

Hi, my name is Chris Get and I am the Senior Systems Developer within the Technical Services team. I have been with Sky for 7 years where I have spent all of my time within Technical Services. My main role within the team is to design, build, and maintain all of our technical and automation infrastructure equipment and systems. It's a very interesting and rewarding role, especially when we start using an automated system that reduces the work load and processing time of a specific task or test. Before working for Sky I worked briefly as a Quality Control Operative in an Electronics company and before that I was a Repair and Service Engineer for Nokia. My main interests are technology and gadgets but I also enjoy playing most sports and am a big PC gamer.
